The membership comprises experts in these fields drawn from the participating insurers and FPA. Additionally work has been commissioned to incorporate advancements in sprinkler technology into the standard from historic ABI work on extended coverage sprinkler protection, and a clause analysis has been performed between the new and old documents to aid in the transfer process. Remit To develop and oversee all work pertaining to the active fire protection of business and property in accordance with the strategic aims as defined by the RISC Authority group To implement the findings in a manner to maximize the benefit to insurers To keep insurers abreast of new and emerging technologies To mitigate losses in actively protected buildings and to make active fire protection financially and technically attractive to the insured property owner To encourage the use of well designed and maintained active fire protection systems To communicate with industry and all relevant stakeholders To seek co-sponsorship of work from like-minded parties
